Welcome to the New Mills Sixth Form Prospectus pages
As a Student in Year Eleven, you have a number of difficult and complex decisions facing you, and this information is intended to help you make them. It does not provide all the answers, and you should seek advice from as many people as you can - your parents, teachers, careers advisers and fellow students - about what is going to be best for you. Look honestly at yourself - at what you are capable of and what you want from life - and then think about how you are most likely to achieve it. Finally, remember that you, and only you, can make the decisions. They are important ones, and the consequences will stay with you for a long time.
Therefore, please read the following pages carefully before making your decisions.
Should I leave school at the end of the year and get a job?
Why stay on in full time education?

Choose a subject from our Prospectus for 2010 - 2012
For each entry you will find a broad description of the content of that course and the name of an identified member of staff who leads on its delivery. You should feel free to approach that teacher for further information and details if you require them.
Please note that all of these courses are offered ‘subject to demand’, which means that if an insufficient number of students opt for a particular course then it will not run. You will be advised of this in good time to be able to refine your thinking.
How to apply

Apply as early as possible to guarantee a place and send your application to Mr Munn. The deadline date for applications is the 5th December.
You will then be contacted with a date for your interview. This will be an informal discussion about your subject choices, career aspirations and an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have. Parents are welcome to attend the interview.
Shortly after your interview you will receive a letter from us which will indicate whether you have been offered a place in the Sixth Form.
We look forward to receiving your application.
